Proactive People

Proactive People

Proactive Development was established in 1994 by husband and wife team Roland and Belinda Evans. Frustrated and disillusioned by their experiences of working in large, poor quality care homes they set up their own based on a vision of a small-scale, responsive service for people with complex needs where those receiving care were at the centre of things. Today they remain fully involved, working full-time in support of those early ideals, bringing stability and clarity of purpose to the service. Their involvement brings them into regular contact with everyone at Proactive, from service user through to staff member and manager. Through activities as diverse as training and supervision, running day services and monitoring quality and compliance they provide the service with essential leadership and direction.
Our Managers

Our Managers

The Service Manager is the cornerstone of any good care service; the vital ingredient for success - at least that’s the way we see things! We are fortunate here at Proactive to have a team of exceptional people running our services who, through many years of dedicated service, have developed a deep understanding of our approach as well as meaningful and effective relationships with our service users, their families and their Care Managers. Their commitment has provided staff and service users alike with a level of stability and consistency that is uncommon.

In addition to being qualified carers and managers, our Service Managers receive training in the assessment and analysis of severe and challenging behaviour from the Institute for Applied Behaviour Analysis and are skilled at developing comprehensive behaviour support plans.

They are all parents themselves and approach their work with the attitude that the care receiver they are supporting is somebody's son or daughter.
